This is one of those topics that when I stopped to study, I saw and I thought, whoa, I never heard about that...
After doing the process 2 or 3 times, you will have it memorized.
For this topic, I recommend doing it 1 time reading this doc and 2 times using only oracle documentation:
Oracle Support Document 762374.1 (Step by Step - Configure Direct NFS Client (DNFS) on Linux (11g)):
https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=762374.1
I also recommend exercising:
- Check the views that give you Direct NFS information:
- v$dnfs_channels
- v$dnfs_files
- v$dnfs_servers
v$dnfs_stats - v$iostat_file
Path to Documentation:
Installing and Upgrading -> Oracle Data Guard Concepts and Administration -> Database Installation Guide for Linux -> Oracle Database Postinstallation Tasks -> Configuring and Using Direct NFS Client
It's easy to setup Direct NFS using the DOC. So keep this path in mind.
